We fell in love with the form and stone facade of this house from the moment we first saw it. While the house faces North (quite untraditional), it sits on a ten-acre lot with impressive views of the Luberon, only ten minutes from Lourmarin. Vineyards surround the property, giving it an idyllic, quintessential Provençal feel.

We set to work on the demolition, and right away, we could see the vision begin to come to life. We opened up the North side of the house by creating French doors that would allow the grand vista to take center stage in the living room. We stripped the chimney and all the interior beams to maintain the earthiness, yet with more of a “honey” warmth. All of the existing doors were kept, yet lightly sandblasted to match the old beams. There was fabulous old stone tile in the living room that we also brought back to life through stripping.

We chose a slightly contemporary look in the kitchen and bathrooms, with clean lines and an emphasis on the light that washes through the house.

This project perfectly matched the vision we had at the outset and was a joy to manage from start to finish. We put this down to having a fabulous team alongside the right potential and bones to work with in a property. A wonderful American couple bought this lovely renovated home even before the paint had dried!
